Week 6 Alternate Assignment

American Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning's  (APHAC) Facebook page seems to have been first set up on May 25, 2010.  Today we have over 70 followers and higher activity with more posts and reaches than we did in the past years.  Our page started with zero reviews and after one year we now have seven!  Our competitors like We Care, Andersons, and Sherlock Facebook pages have some differences and similarities.

We Care Plumbing Heating Air and Solar have 92 reviews with a rating of 4.5 stars.  They also have 1,161 likes and 1,130 followers.  We Care has 320 people who have checked into their business as well.  I notice they do not always reply to their posts comments and reviews, however they have had many conversations with their customers on their page.  Their cover photo stays to brand but doesn't do much for the viewer.  Maybe they should have more information on what the cover photo is saying?  We Care post their content and such within a few days from each other.  There is a lot of content that seems to reach some people.  It seems they are very effective with their content and reach.  I would suggest making more of a connection that would result in conversation and to post more frequently.  The best practice for posting on social media is two to three times a week.  However, I recently was told three to five times a week is now much more effective.  Though this depends on the post itself. 

Anderson Plumbing Heating and Air has 108 reviews with a rating of 4.5 stars as well.  It is apparent that Anderson is very active within their community even though they do not always respond to every review or comments they receive.  Their content is definitely high and there are some activity with their interaction with their customers.  Calls to action seem good and effective, especially that they have this as their cover photo.  They post content and such within a few days or so.  Anderson has 3,487 likes and 3,287 followers with 326 customers who have checked in at their location.  Looking at their page, they are effective with their content and reach.  I'd suggest the same as We Care, to do a further reach in conversing with their consumers online. 

Sherlock Heating and Air Conditioning has 11 reviews with a rating of 4.9, however the reviews are just ratings.  They currently have 346 likes, 331 followers, and 47 customers who've checked in.  They reach their consumers by holidays, personable interests like animals, and inside recognition and gatherings.  The cover photo is recognizable for any new customers or repeats that are searching for them on Facebook.  Their brand shows how they relate to one another and to their customers on a personal level.  They have some conversation going with their customers, although it isn't frequent.  Sherlock seems to be a bit more active in their posts recently.  I would suggest possibly incorporating more connections to their customers within their post/contents. 

You can learn a lot after reviewing and analyzing these competitor's Facebook pages.  Content is key, but having the proper reach and connection to your consumers is much more important.  At APHAC, we strive to achieve this as a small family owned growing company.  Visit our Facebook page and let me know what you think?
