Week 6B: Post Reach vs. Post Engagement
Post reach is when someone has seen the post and it's content. Post engagement is when someone actually makes an action in response to the post and it's content. Example of such responses could be a like, share, or comment. In any business, your first step is to reach your consumers or potential consumers. The second step is to receive an action or response of some sort from this viewer. Knowing this difference is important because you could have a huge number of reached, however without the engagement your business is at jeopardy so to speak. Engagement brings better results to your ROI for your business rather than just that high number of reached. Say you have 50 people reached but only 5 engaged. How do you think the business will be affected? Will it have made any significant ROI from this difference?

ReplyDeleteI like the questions you asked in your post. That make us think about. In your example of having 50 people reached, but only 5 engaged. it is true that no engaging with your followers or target market will affect your business by no having the results you expect. With that question, make me think that is better focus on Engagement rather than on Reach.

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't completely rule out reach because I believe before you can have engagement you must have a reach. Without reaching anyone, how would you obtain those engagements? Yes, focus on your engagements, but don't forget those reaches! :)
